FROM STRAIGHT TO SPIRAL CURLS WITH ARTIZEN

The technique of curling hair with the Artizen Professional Irons with Surround Heating™ is like sliding a ribbon between the blades of scissors to make spirals. The position or angle at which you place the iron around the hair is the key to the resulting curl formation. The movement of the hair through the ceramic-ionic plates and around the edges and outside surfaces of the iron is actually flowing in an arc shape. The far infrared moist heat forms the hair shaft into shape- guided by the rhythm of the artist's hands in motion.

Step 3

Spiral Curl
Start with a section of hair and slide the iron down the shaft to warm the hair to prepare for molding the shape with the iron. In sectioning for the finished style, work from the underneath sections of the hair towards the outer sections. From the base of the section, place the hair between the iron plates, holding the iron at a 45° angle, turn the iron, laying the hair flat on the outside of the chrome surface. Use your free hand to guide and hold the iron closed while manipulating the iron in one turn. The back side of the iron is now facing you.
Slide the iron down the hair shaft using even tension against the outer edge of the iron (which shapes the curl formation) Keep the hair on the upper portion of the iron plates, and watch that the ends do not slide out of the plates. Slide down the entire length of the shaft through the ends, maintaining the same angle. Once the ends pass through the iron, release the hair and see the curl pop out! The slower the movement, the tighter the curl.

Note: For waves position the iron more parallel to the floor during the entire 3 step process.
